Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 May 2026The short version. Be 13 or older. Don't share your account. Subscriptions auto-renew through Apple until you cancel them in your iPhone Settings. AI interpretations are reflective prompts, not professional advice. Be kind to yourself and to us.
1. Agreement
By creating an account in Noctura, downloading the app, or using any feature, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
These Terms apply alongside Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for App Store apps. Where they conflict, Apple's EULA controls.
2. What Noctura is
Noctura is an iOS app that lets you record (by voice or text) your dreams and receive AI-generated interpretations through three lenses (Islamic, psychological, spiritual). It also surfaces patterns across your dream journal and offers an optional morning reminder.
The app is a personal reflection tool. It is not a medical device, not a religious authority, not a clinical product, and not a substitute for professional advice of any kind. See §7 for the full disclaimer.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or older if your country requires) to use Noctura. By using the app, you represent that you meet this age threshold and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
You may delete your account at any time from inside the app: Me → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and irrecoverable — see the Privacy Policy for details.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Noctura offers two auto-renewable subscription tiers:
- Yearly: US$39.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Monthly: US$7.99 per month, no trial.
Local pricing in your country may differ slightly — Apple displays the exact amount in your local currency at the moment of purchase, before you confirm.
Auto-renewal
Both plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Renewal is charged to your Apple ID payment method. The App Store will email you a receipt at each renewal.
Free trial
If you start the yearly plan as a new subscriber, you receive a 7-day free trial during which the app's full feature set is unlocked. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the yearly subscription begins and your Apple ID is charged the yearly price. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You can cancel the moment you start the trial; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the trial window, and you keep full access until then.
Cancellation and refunds
To cancel: iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Noctura → Cancel Subscription. Or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's refund policy applies.
What the subscription unlocks
An active subscription removes the daily free-tier limit on AI interpretations and unlocks unlimited dream interpretations across all three lenses. If your subscription lapses, your existing dreams and prior interpretations remain readable; only the ability to generate new interpretations beyond the free daily quota is paused until you re-subscribe.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use the app to:
- Submit content that violates any law, infringes on someone's rights, or that you don't have the right to submit.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with the app or our backend services.
- Probe, scan, or test the security of any part of the service in a way that could disrupt it for others.
- Use the service to generate content that targets, harasses, or harms another identifiable person.
- Misrepresent your identity, your age, or your affiliation with any person or organization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, in line with §10.
7. AI interpretations — the disclaimer
The interpretations the app shows you are produced by a large language model (Anthropic's Claude). They are statistical text generation, not the considered opinion of a human expert. They may be wrong, partial, generic, or occasionally absurd. They are not:
- Medical advice. If a recurring dream concerns you, talk to a qualified professional.
- Religious authority. The "Islamic" lens draws on classical dream-interpretation literature for cultural-symbolic readings. It does not issue fatwas, rulings, or theological positions, and it is not affiliated with any religious authority.
- Psychotherapy. The "psychological" lens is informed by Jungian and modern psychodynamic vocabulary but is not therapy and does not replace a therapist.
- Spiritual guidance. The "spiritual" lens is non-denominational reflection — not a substitute for a tradition, teacher, or community you trust.
Use what resonates. Discard what doesn't. If anything in the interpretation surfaces something that feels heavy or distressing, please reach out to a human — friend, doctor, therapist, faith leader — not the app.
8. Intellectual property
Your content stays yours. The dreams you record and the metadata you add (titles, tags, moods) belong to you. By using the app, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, transmit, and process your content solely for the purpose of operating the service for you (e.g., generating interpretations, syncing across your devices, surfacing patterns). This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
The app, its design, branding, source code, and the AI prompts that produce your interpretations are owned by Noctura. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use them for personal reflection. Don't copy, scrape, or rebrand them.
9. Third-party services
The app uses Apple's App Store, Apple Sign-In, optional Google Sign-In, Anthropic's Claude API, and OpenAI's Whisper API. Your interaction with those services is also subject to their respective terms. See the Privacy Policy §4 for the full list and what each one sees.
10. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time. Cancel your subscription via the iPhone Settings flow above; delete your account in-app to erase your data.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms in a way that materially harms the service or other users. We'll typically warn you first and give you a chance to fix it, except in cases of clear abuse or legal obligation. If we terminate your account, you forfeit any unused subscription period — refunds remain Apple's call.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that interpretations will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the app or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations — in those places, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of (a) content you submit to the app, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of someone else's rights. This is standard boilerplate; in practice we hope we never need it.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that we cannot resolve informally goes to the courts and enforcement bureaus of İstanbul, Türkiye, except where applicable consumer-protection law in your country grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
If we update these Terms, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, give you in-app or email notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you don't, please cancel and delete your account.
15. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and Apple's standard EULA) form the complete agreement between you and us regarding the app.
